1986 502 Big Block Oldsmobile

This car rocks! yeh.. yeh..
The car has been through a few changes since I bought it six years ago. It now has a 502 HO chevy crate motor rated at 450/5500. The motor is straight out of the crate with the exception of the oil pan which I found out wouldn't fit thanks to your article in Feb. 99 (Big Block Swap). It's topped by a Demon 750 carb, MSD billet distributor and 6AL box. I also used Maches polished aluminum serpentine pulley set and a Griffen aluminum radiator. The exhaust consists of Hooker 2" super comp headers with 21/2" dual exhaust. The trans was a full manual 350 with a GER 3000 stall converter until I grenaded it. The rear is stock except for an auburn posi and 3.73 richmond gears. Other hop-ups include a home-built dash with Auto-meter ultra-lite gauges and a custom trunk and door panels which house my stereo system. Just before I killed the trans my best pass was 12.83@104.9mph running 275/50 15 BFGoodrich comp t/a drag radials. Although the BFG's helped a lot, I feel I can go a tenth or two faster with slicks. Future plans call for a 700r4 trans (before the trans went this was my daily driver and it will be again after I fix it so I need the gas mileage help), a new paint job and better brakes just as soon as I pay off my credit card debt! Hope you enjoy the pics, Rick Parks, Glen Burnie MD
